Our client in this project was keen from the start for us to exercise some 'artistic license' with their design.
The existing layout (the original from the house builder) was quite different and as is often the case, plumbing ‘convenience’ ranked over design as the shower enclosure was confined to a smaller recessed enclosure with the tray built up unnecessarily high. Reconfiguring the showering area was central to their objectives and with the removal of their existing unwanted bath tub, the centre of the left-hand wall on entry seemed the obvious location to position the new showering area. It’s unusual to have a dual-side entry but so long as the tray length is long enough functionality remains.
On the opposite side of the room, we centrally positioned in between each window a 800mm wall-hung vanity unit with motion-sensor lighting and a large round feature mirror to complement.
Wall and floor finishes were simple and elegant offering a clean contrast with soft tones which the client was keen to ensure whist remaining design-led yet timeless.
