Mixer showers are so named as they combine the mix of both a hot & cold incoming water supply, typically from the household heating system. They can be either exposed (simply meaning the unit is visible) or concealed (meaning the opposite - where the item's workings are hidden behind the surface). Furthermore they can have simply one, or multiple outlets depending how many shower heads or outlets you require. A common myth is that the mixer shower itself drives water pressure but in reality this comes from the specification of the underlying heating system. That said different showers will work better if specified with consideration given to its minimum operating pressure.
