Digital showers have many advantages and often provide a solution where the showering arrangement is a bit more intricate. Essentially, the 'shower' itself is within a processing box which typically is fitted out of sight but accessible for plumbing and maintenance (normally an attic space or adjoining cupboard). From here the plumbing is dispatched to service the outlets in the showering room, that is the spray head (or heads if more than one) and the wall controller. Crucially the wall controller is fed simply by a small data cable providing much more flexibility for it's location - often these are fitted at the entry point of a bath or walk-in shower. Digital showers usually have the option of coming complete with an integrated pump to improve flow rate or with no pump (usually for high pressure systems such as combination boilers).
